THE SUMMER SEASON IS AT OUR DOORSTEP AND THE BAYFIELD AREA IS COMING ALIVE
There are signs of life everywhere, from flowers blooming and trees budding, to restaurants opening (not only for take-out and delivery, but more and more are opening for dine-in as well). Shops and galleries are opening, kayaking trips are taking place, the Apostle Islands Cruises are scheduled to begin their cruises and kayaking trips have begun. The Madeline Island Ferry is running daily and our trails and beaches are open giving you plenty of outdoor space to enjoy the fresh air, lake breezes, and breathtaking beauty that surrounds us.
Look at some of the things that are happening in and around the Bayfield area. Madeline Island Ferry, Bayfield & Madeline Island, WI 715-747-2051, ferry operating daily. Explore Madeline Island and check out Big Bay Town Park and its lagoon and Big Bay State Park, and the beautiful beaches.
Trek & Trail (kayaking), Bayfield, WI 800-354-8735, kayak trips have begun!
Trails throughout the area are open for hiking, biking, or a leisurely stroll. Some of our favorite trails are Houghton Falls, Frog Bay, Meyers Beach, Big Ravine, Iron Bridge (short in town trail), and Copper Falls. There’s an awesome trail next to us (Pinehurst Inn Bed & Breakfast) starting from the Bayfield Fish Hatchery and wanders along Pike’s Creek or check out the Salmo trail just down the street from us. We are happy to provide maps to our guests which provide additional information about the many area trails.
Beaches throughout the Bayfield area our open. Friendly Valley Beach (which connects with the beach at Bayview Park) is just south of Pinehurst Inn B&B and is a great beach to take a nice stroll or catch a sunrise. Also check out some of our other favorite beaches in the area.

Each day, more and more shops and galleries are opening up. Check out our Shopping page for links to the various shops and galleries. We walked around town this past weekend and were pleased to see several shops open but limiting the number of shoppers at one time and taking other precautions. We are seeing signs of summer and are looking forward to welcoming guests to Bayfield.
